Day trip to Sea World!

Thursday evening when Alec got home from work we sat down for dinner and enjoyed some tacos...while eating we both discussed how we had Friday off and that we should do something fun and different. Well, Alec suggested we drive to San Antonio that night and spend the day at Sea World on Friday, then drive back home Friday night. At first I thought it was crazy, it was already 8:30! But then, I decided that it would be so fun to take Griffin up there for the day and why not be a little spontaneous! So we packed up and headed out!

Griffin sleeping on the way...

As soon as we got to Sea World Griffin took off to feed the dolpins!

Then we went swimming...

There was a slide in the pool!

He didn't need this life jacket, but saw it and wanted it on... for like one minute! LOL!

He had a blast jumping into the water...

Caught a show we hadn't seen before... and G loved dancing to the music, but only from his chair! He was scared of the characters!

We saw Shamu... Hi Shamu!

And then one more trip back to the dolphins before we headed home... he laid here and watched them for over half an hour... it was so peaceful as the feeding side was closed so the dolphins were just playing...

We got home late Friday night, we are all tired and very sun BURNT, but it was totally worth it! We had an absolute BLAST!

My little man...

Griffin LOVES music! He loves to dance, sing, and play instruments! So much fun! Here are a few videos I captured of him the other night, thank goodness he let me get him on video! Usually when he sees the camera he stops! Enjoy!!

And, Griffin's Aunt Julie sent him a surprise for getting potty trained... some Go Diego Go (or as Griffin calls it Go Go Go!) underwear! I just loved these two pics of him when he got it!

Opening his surprise!

Him and his cousin Connor, Griffin kept telling Connor thank you and Connor just wanted to smile for the camera! Loved this chillin out pose!

Summer means...

BASEBALL and water time!!!

First Cats game of the season... Griffin LOVED it!! Surprising I know!

He had to get a "helmet"!

He got to run the bases!!

Ready to Slip'n'slide!

Playing in the water at the park!

Oh Griffin...

My little man is such a hoot, I mean seriously a total character! I have fears that he will be the class clown... but hey somebody has to fill that role huh? Kidding, kidding... I know that he will know how to at least control his goofiness! A few stories of the last week...

Griffin loves to dip... he dips everything from his chips to his waffles (in applesauce)! He loves the process of dipping, and he loves the dip by itself! So the other night we were at CampoVerde (my fav restaurant!) with our friend Heather and out of nowhere she busted out laughing and said, "Um you might want to stop him!" I look over and he has picked the bowl of cheese dip up and is DRINKING it! I said, " Griffin, you can't drink that!" and he said, "Yes I sip it!" Cracked us up!

The other night while me and Griffin were driving around, he was getting kind of bored with all my errands, so I told him to tell me a story. He started to tell me the story of The Three Little Pigs... "the pig in the house and the wolf go hoooooo hooooo HOOOOO (blowing sound with his mouth) and pig run run run!" and I asked, "Where did the pig go?" and he said, " Go car, vroom vroom, and say bye bye wolf, see ya soon!" Love him! Since then when I ask him where the pig went he has said "to Griffin's house" and " to other house and wolf say hooooo hooooo HOOOO!" Awesome!

One more... So Griffin had some ravioli the other night and we had taken his shirt off so he wouldn't get red sauce on it. When he was done, there was red sauce all down his belly and Alec said, "Wow Griffin you got red sauce all over your belly!" and Griffin responded, 'YEA! Go Red Sox!" Hahaha! Always got baseball on the mind!

Weekend with Maelea!!

On Memorial Day weekend our dear friend Heather, who Alec and I met in college, and her sweet daughter Maelea, who was born on the same day as Griffin, came down to visit us from Tennessee! It was a fun filled, jam packed, three day visit... and when it was over we were very sad to see them go and Griffin has told me everyday since they left how much he misses Maelea... makes me wish we could see them more often or that they would move back to Texas!! Ah well, we truly had a blast as I am sure can be seen in the pictures from our weekend! We went to several parks, the ZOO, the children's museum, had their pictures taken at JCPenney's, and just found fun where ever we went!

Snack before going to get pics taken!

Are they not the cutest?!?! Oh they are!

It's POTTY Time!!!

Yes you heard me right... it's POTTY time!! WOOT! Griffin is potty training, or should I say he is potty trained! That is so amazing to say!! Griffin has known how to use the potty for quite some time, but just didn't seem to really care about using it. We had decided that we wanted the potty training process to happen when he was ready and not when we were ready, ha, but we constantly were letting him sit on the potty so that he would get used to it! Well it sure did pay off!

This past Sunday, May 23rd, when we got home from church Griffin told me he needed to go potty... WHAT!? Yea!! So we ran to the bathroom and he WENT! Later that day while at a friends house he started doing the potty dance and I asked if he needed to go, he said yes, and he WENT! So when we got home we put underwear on and he used the potty the rest of the evening. So... on Monday morning I asked him if he needed to go potty when he got up and he said yes, and again he WENT! So I put underwear on him and he used the potty ALL day long, with only one very small accident while we were in the car trying to make it home, and then one boom boom (this is what we call #2!) accident. Not bad for his first real day!

Tuesday we did the same thing in the morning, he went potty and put on underwear for the day! He used the potty all day like a champ and even boom boomed on the potty! I have never been so excited over boom boom!! HA! He has been so totally proud of himself and I know that is because he is doing this for and by himself, and I am so glad we let him take the lead!! He stayed dry all day, even when we went and ran errands... including a stop at Papa and Nana's house to tell them how good he was doing and to get a little surprise they had for him... CARS underwear!! He has Sesame Street, which he loves, and he was so pumped to get some CARS undies too!

Wednesday, same morning routine, and then he went potty all day!! He even boom boomed TWICE on the potty!! WOOHOO!!!! He had one small accident as we were running to the potty from playing outside, but not a biggie! One little story... we were leaving and he went potty right before we left. We got in the car and started backing out of the driveway and he yelled "I GOTTA POTTY!!" so I pulled back into the driveway and we ran in... sure enough he had to boom boom!!! I just think that's awesome!

I am just amazed with him and how smoothly this has gone. He tells us when he needs to go EVERY time and he GOES!!! He isn't even 2 1/2 yet!!! I am just so proud, and am so pumped that he is doing so amazing at it!!

SO PROUD!!

OH BONUS! He went ALL day today in the same pair of undies!!!! NO accidents!!

Baseball FUN!

My little ball player (with a peppermint in his mouth!) wearing his Red Sox gear and toting his Red Sox bat to go see daddy at work!

Well I am sure I have made it clear on here that Griffin is a ball player through and through! He LOVES to play baseball, wakes up asking for a ballgame on TV and to play catch, has to have a ball, glove, and bat with him everywhere we go... the boy is a junkie! Now, don't get me wrong we love this about him, and wanted him to LIKE baseball and maybe even play when he got older... we did not even consider that at 2 he would be so in LOVE with baseball that it consumes us... who am I kidding he has been this way since before he was 1! But, it is all Griffin-led and we are strong believers in nurturing his interests so we go with it! We are thankful that he will take a break every once in a while to get his music side on! He does love to dance, sing, and play instruments... but that is definitely a far second to baseball! And yes I am his Mom and I am biased, BUT he is really really good at playing and I mean REALLY good!

Anyway... Alec decided to get him a real bat, like an aluminum tee ball playing bat, and some real tee ball baseballs! We went to the park and set up, and had one of those nights that is just so fun you never want it to end! He was so pumped about his bat! We gave it to him at home and then told him we had to go to the park to play! He was awesome about being patient, but he was so excited he could hardly stand it! "Go park. Go bye bye. Hit bat, Red Sox bat. Bat! Daddy bat Griffin bat!" LOL! He didn't know how to describe it, but we knew what he meant!

Waiting for his surprise! (The bat!)

So excited!

First at bat!

Had to get rid of the tee, he likes to hit without the tee!

A little video!

And then we went over to the park for a couple minutes... he loves this slide!
