Trip to Rochester, NY

At the end of June we flew to Rochester, NY where Alec has family. His Grandpa Jack had passed away and we went to the funeral. The flight up there was absolutely awful... we got on the plane at 12:30 and didn't take off till after 5 due to a maintenance problem with the plane! They would not even let us get off the plane the entire time! Thankfully, Griffin is such a trooper and did really well with the wait (even without a nap)... he watched a movie and played with his Toy Story figures from Papa and Nana most of the time!

Sweet boy...

When we finally took off he settled in with a Dum-Dum and fell asleep as soon as it was gone!

We then had a long layover in Chicago, as we had missed our connecting flight. Luckily they had a play area and Griffin got some run around time!! We then had some yummy Chicago pizza and we were back on the plane at around 9:30!

We didn't get in until after midnight and had to get up very early the next morning to ride a bus for an hour out to the graveside service for Grandpa Jack. Griffin did well on the bus being entertained by his Grandma and also his cousin TJ!

We then stayed with Alec's Aunt Jean for a few days. Her daughter, Victoria, and Griffin had a blast together!!

Oh and a sidenote here... I let Griffin use scissors for the first time while we were at the museum and he cut a big chunk of his hair out! Grr... we were literally all standing right next to him, but he put the scissors next to his head to try to get a better grip on them and in turn closed them and cut his hair! Ah well...

The service was beautiful and we had a good time visiting with Alec's family.
